Are you curious to find out what other EMOS students are working on?
This is your opportunity to broaden your horizon.
Learn more about the research projects of EMOS students in the Netherlands, by joining the EMOS Symposium at Statistics Netherlands (CBS)!
The chair of the symposium Reinoud Stoel (Head of Research and Development at CBS) will open the symposium and introduce to you Carola Carstens and Tina Steenvoorden (EMOS Secretariat, Eurostat) who will give an introduction about the EMOS network and EMOS activities. Next, Jacco Daalmans (EMOS coordinator and methodologist at CBS) will then provide insight into what EMOS entails at CBS.
Afterwards, nine EMOS students who are currently interns at CBS will present their research. They will share their preliminary results and their experiences with EMOS. The topics are wide-ranging, from statistical methods and applications to social issues such as polarization, homelessness, inequality, and epidemiological models. Innovative techniques such as natural language processing and machine learning will also be discussed.
